Miwi Academy
Health Owl offers decentralized medium to article creation and writing, with gamified features to help preserve authorship and accredit authors and users onchain.
Vision and Innovation
Wanting to preserve cultural artifacts and information while avoiding erasure. "Erasure" is what happens when cultures and their ideas are wiped from existence, by gathering a community onchain and writing onchain about pressing issues, hot-seat topics, and cultural history and preservation of finances, Miwi Academy aims to both onboard and protect minorities onchain.
Identifying Unique Challenges
Jargon and slang are things we needed to tackle and abstract. It's already hard explaining what html is to someone who doesn't directly work in tech, the same way describing a backhand in tennis to someone who doesn't play.
Resolving Complex Problems
UX Research at this point was critical, as every interaction we made and statement we said could have dangerous consequences. I interviewed various people, from libraries and musicians, to tech savvy and business oriented. Each bite-sized lesson mattered, it involved finances in a world where you can lose them online. After, we tackled our branding kit and design system, to communicate directly to the users in a way that's impactful, and sticky. Education wasn't the main goal but slowly became one as we navigated the world of onboarding and gathering data-feedback from interviews one by one.
User-Centric Design
The design is meant to be simple, as it utilizes blockchain features, we also utilized an api to create better visuals for the voting mechanics that highlight user's by their onchain wallet. We wanted a treasury so that people could see that they're involved with the money, and that everyone has a voice. We blended months of research into a well designed package that users could enjoy.
Meeting User Needs
Diverse users and goals are always important, the only one we had was that users felt heard, so in the process I made sure to design magazine articles with entries from each of our members.
